The Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) has opened the call for applications for the Asia-Europe Public Diplomacy Training Initiative 2017.
Established in 2013 by ASEF in partnership with DiploFoundation and the National Centre for Research on Europe (NCRE), the Initiative provides practical skills-oriented trainings on public diplomacy to young, junior-level diplomats from ASEM Partners working on Asia-Europe relations in their respective ministries.
From 3 July–8 September 2017, successful participants will take part in a 10-week online course to learn about the theories and concepts of public diplomacy, as well as develop practical skills and techniques to construct innovative public diplomacy campaigns and strategies in the context of Asia-Europe relations.
Following the completion of the online course, they will attend a 4.5-day Face-to-face Training on 9–13 October 2017 in Indonesia. Hosted by the Directorate General of American and European Affairs in collaboration with the Centre for Education and Training of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, the Face-to-face Training will further enhance participants’ skills acquired from the online course through interactive discussions and group exercises, as well as build connections with Asian and European counterparts working in the same field.
For more information, download the training leaflet here. The deadline for online applications is on Monday, 12 June 2017.
