The Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) will support the 1st edition of the Film Restoration School Asia. The training initiative will provide film preservation and restoration training for 50 young film professionals from Asia to help preserve shared cinematic heritage.
This 6-day training will take place in Singapore on 18-23 November 2013, organised by the National Museum of Singapore in collaboration with the Cineteca di Bologna, L’Immagine Ritrovata and the World Cinema Foundation.
Over the past 5 years, 175 participants from across the globe have attended this programme in Bologna, Italy organised by the Cineteca di Bologna and L’Immagine Ritrovata laboratory. Building upon that success, the programme will inaugurate its first edition in Asia at the National Museum of Singapore.
The Film Restoration Scholl Asia will include public screenings, lectures and practical hands-on lessons, conducted by experts from around the world. The goal of the programme is to address current issues surrounding film preservation and restoration while providing participants with practical training of current restoration and archival best-practices.
