The Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF), through its film website film.culture360.org, supports the ‘MEMORY! International Heritage Film Festival’, 1-9 June 2013 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
The festival has been designed to sensitise filmmakers and audiences to value film heritage and the importance of film preservation and restoration in Asia and Europe. This first festival of its kind in Southeast Asia, will gather film professionals for screenings, workshops and conferences around the theme of film restoration.
ASEF’s support to this festival builds on its commitment to the preservation of film heritage in Asia and Europe. This is also evidenced through its support to projects such as Raiding the Archives, which supported an extensive research of film archives in Asia and Europe in 2011.
Ms Valentina RICCARDI, ASEF’s Project Manager of Cultural Exchange, will present the organisation’s long history of support to Asia-Europe co-operation in the field of film at the film festival in Cambodia.
‘MEMORY!’ is organised by the Technicolor Foundation for Cinema Heritage (France) in partnership with the Bophana Centre (Cambodia) and the Cambodia Film Commission.
