Eurasian Creaspace Networking (ECN) will bring 5 European and 5 Asian cultural managers respectively to Kunming (China), 20-23 September and Valencia (Spain), 23-26 October 2016. They will exchange best practices with cultural professionals, academics and policy-makers. During their meetings in China and Spain, European creative spaces from France, Italy, Spain and United Kingdom will be presented in Kunming while Asian creative spaces from China, India, Indonesia, Japan and the Philippines will be showcased in Valencia.
The project focuses on small and mid-size creative spaces in creative industries, with a special focus on a cultural planning approach. Through study visits and workshops in Kunming and Valencia, selected cultural managers will meet city administrators and share good governance skills and experiences for better smart local cultural planning. The project’s main objective is to strengthen the international network of small-scale formal and informal creative spaces. The results of the meetings in China and Spain will be published as best practices for space, creativity and innovation in managing small creative spaces.
Eurasian Creaspace Networking is supported by ASEF through the ASEF Creative Networks project series. Project partners include: Culture Industry Institute, Yunnan University (China), Econcult, and the University of Valencia (Spain).
