LumiQueer is a non-profit organisation focusing on the development of Queer films or films related to the minority group of LGBTQ in Viet Nam. With a vision and mission to promote the development of Queer films using the medium of cinema, LumiQueer hopes to change the social views people have towards Queer individuals and to build a free, equal and diverse Viet Nam. LumiQueer has gradually brought Queer films closer to the audiences through its first 2 editions of Hanoi International Queer Film Week and in the following years, LumiQueer will continue to organise screening events but also support filmmakersin understanding Queer cinematic topics and improve the ability of Queerpeople in telling their life stories through films.
Hanoi International Queer Film Week is an international film festival about the LGBTQ community in Viet Nam, focusing on the development of Queer films or films about the minority group of LGBTQs. The festival aims to use film/ cinema as a medium to raise awareness on the Queer community, aspiring a free, equal and non-discriminatory Viet Nam. In 2019, the
invited cultural professional will be sharing her filmmaking experience as an LGBTQs filmmaker with other younger LGBTQ filmmakers.
Through Mobility First!, ASEF will be supporting the mobility of 1 Asian national to participate in Hanoi International Queer Film Week from 10 to 16 October 2019, held in Hanoi, Viet Nam.
