ARTJOG is an international contemporary arts festival based in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, where various interdisciplinary arts are presented. ARTJOG commits itself to overcoming boundaries that restrict the practice and the interpretation in art practice, whilst developing and maintaining the existing network between artist, market, stakeholder, and the public. In addition, ARTJOG aims to be a space for sharing; where knowledge and aesthetic experiences are shared, along with the latest development in art.
In 2019, 4 international artists are invited to attend ARTJOG and visit Yogyakarta, and contextualise their personal, social, cultural and artistic experience to create new body of works. During the artists’ residency, artists will be visiting arts institutions, the arts community and groups; engaging in archives and history research; gathering research material and collaborating with the local community to present works at the ARTJOG exhibition.
Through Mobility First!, ASEF is supporting the mobility of 4 Asian artists to attend the artists’ residency and exhibition at ARTJOG, taking place from 29 to 31 July 2019 at Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
