The ASEF photo exhibition On the Go was launched on 4 November in partnership with the City of Luxembourg. After Luxembourg, the photos will be exhibited in several capitals in Asia and Europe including Singapore, Brussels and Ulaanbaatar.
On occasion of the upcoming 20th Anniversary of the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) in 2016, ASEF introduced this photo exhibition to visualise the differences and similarities between Asians and Europeans. On the Go was organised in conjunction with the 12th ASEM Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (ASEM FMM12) that took place 5-6 November 2015 in Luxembourg.
The opening ceremony of the exhibition was hosted by the City of Luxembourg. The photographs will be on display at Luxembourg’s City Hall Square, Place Guillaume ll, until end of December 2015.
“Seeing this very sensitive dialogue that is suggested in these pictures between Europe and Asia, I felt very moved … and we really discover all we have in common in both parts of the world,” said Ms Colette MART, Luxembourg’s Vice Mayor in charge of Education and Equal Opportunities, during the exhibition opening.
The photographs selected for the exhibition were shortlisted from a photo competition organised by ASEF in 2015. Both professional and budding photographers from 50 ASEM member countries submitted over 1,500 entries capturing on-the-go scenes from the two regions. The competition was judged by a panel of experts, chaired by LASALLE College of the Arts, Singapore.
