ASEF’s Director for Education, Ms Leonie NAGARAJAN, was invited to speak at the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) Ministerial Meeting on 19 November. The Ministerial Conference was attended by EHEA Education Ministers and Higher Education representatives from 48 European Countries and was opened by Ms Mariya GABRIEL, European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth.
Ms NAGARAJAN participated in a Global Dialogue Panel entitled “Moving towards 2030: what global cooperation in higher education should look like and how to build it”. Other panellists included Ms Sarah ANYANG AGBOR (Commissioner for Human Resources, Science and Technology of the African Union Commission), Mr Jamie MERISOTIS (President & CEO of the Lumina Foundation), Mr Carlos A ROMERO ROSTAGNO (Responsible for Higher Education in the MInistry of Education and Culture in Uruguay), and Ms Imane BENRABIAA (Member of the African Students and Alumni Forum). The Panel was moderated by Ms Eva EGRON-POLAK, former Secretary-General of the International Association of Universities (IAU).
During the discussions, Ms NAGARAJAN spoke on the importance of inclusive and equitable dialogue, internationalisation and mobility, significance of non-formal learning opportunities and the role of the ASEM Education Process in strengthening global education dialogue.
