On Thursday 17 June 2021, ASEF’s Director for Education, Ms Leonie NAGARAJAN, was invited to speak at the British Council’s Going Global Conference 2021. The Conference was joined by leaders in international education to debate the future of further and higher education.
Ms NAGARAJAN participated in a session titled “Building a roadmap for an equitable global HE system by 2030”. Other panellists included Ms Roberta MALEE BASSET (Global Lead for Tertiary Education, World Bank), Ms Courtney BROWN (VP of Impact and Planning, Lumina Foundation) & Mr Francesc PEDRO (Director of UNESCO Institute for Higher Education in Latin America and the Caribbean). The session was moderated by Dr Graeme ATHERTON, Director of the National Education Opportunities Network ,UK and Head of the Centre for Levelling Up at University of West London.
During the discussions, Ms NAGARAJAN spoke on the necessary steps required to drive forward collaboration for equitable access across Europe and Asia and how the regions can collaborate to reduce inequality.
