The ASEF Capacity Training on Public Speaking and Negotiation is organised by the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) in partnership with the Far Eastern University, Manila.
The event is part of ASEF’s education portfolio that, amongst others, provides youth platforms for dialogue and solution-centred pragmatic skills-development. The two 1-day skills trainings will include hands-on, interactive activities where participants can train and enhance their public speaking and negotiation skills. The trainer, Ms Katherine HERMANS, Director of Global Changemakers in Switzerland, will deliver a training that will provide participants with a solid toolbox to assess how they speak and present themselves, and how they can best engage in negotiations.
This particular Capacity Training complements and builds up the momentum for the 7th Model ASEM in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia (6-10 July 2016) in conjunction with the 11th ASEM Summit (ASEM11). Model ASEM is a 3-day youth conference and political simulation of the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) Summit.
The Capacity Training’s Core Objectives are to:
- Create the opportunity of a skills-focused ASEF programme on a local level
- Provide a platform for youth to aggrandize their public speaking, presentation and negotiation skills, a core competence for future employment and
- Enable youth to obtain personalized feedback through an experienced trainer and group activities
