The Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) in partnership with the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Erasmus Students Network Greece (ESN Greece) and the Global Changemakers held the 1st ASEF Capacity Training 2017 series on “Public speaking and Negotiation“ on 4–5 July 2017 in Thessaloniki, Greece.
The trainings are directly linked to the 2nd ASEF Young Leaders Summit (ASEFYLS2) on “Access to Youth Employment“, which will take place on 16–21 September 2017 in Seoul, Korea.
Over 30 local students, entrepreneurs and young professionals participated in the sessions conducted by Ms Katherine HERMANS, Director of Global Changemakers, a non-profit NGO based in Switzerland.
Participants engaged in the interactive workshop modules that featured role-playing fused with preparatory exercises, before taking the stage to deliver a public speech.
The project has the following core objectives:
- Extend the opportunity for the applicants of ASEFYLS2 on a local level through a skills-focused agenda
- Organise small-group mentorship and guidance in leadership between local young leaders and internationally renowned professionals
- Further develop the Asia-Europe platform for emerging leaders in the ASEM partner countries they are held
The next ASEF Capacity Training will be held on October 2017 in Vientiane, Lao PDR.
