The Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) Malaysia hosted the ASEM Senior Education Officials’ Meeting (SOM) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (28-29 January 2013). It was in preparation for the 4th Asia-Europe Meeting of Ministers for Education (ASEMME4), which was held in May 2013.
ASEF’s Deputy Executive Director, Mr Karsten WARNECKE, presented the Foundation’s contributions to the ASEM Education Process since the 3rd Asia-Europe Meeting of Ministers for Education (ASEMME3). He was joined by colleagues from the ASEF Higher Education Programme (AHEP).
During this meeting, the Senior Officials discussed trends and developments on quality assurance and recognition; university-business co-operation; mobility; and lifelong learning and technical vocational education and training (TVET). These are the four priority themes that resulted from the ASEMME3 (May 2011, Denmark).
