The MOU signing ceremony between ASEF and Temasek Polytechnic was conducted as part of #ASEF25 anniversary. As ASEF looks ahead to the next 25 years of Asia-Europe relations, it emphasizes the role of design in effective communication and mutual understanding between diverse groups of people, overcoming language and cultural barriers.
The event was marked with a 25th anniversary cake cutting ceremony.
One of the first outputs of the MOU with Temasek Poly was the organization of a fireside chat between the students of Temasek Polytechnic and Minister Dr. MALIKI Osman, (Minister at Prime Minister Office, Second Minister for Education & Second Minister for Foreign Affairs), and Ambassador Toru MORIKAWA (ASEF Executive Director)
During the discussion, Ambassador Toru MORIKAWA emphasized the importance for young generations to be ready to face the era of digitalization that imposes rapid changes. Moreover, all speakers also hoped that students could explore the horizon to learn more about the Asian and European regions. Specifically, Ambassador MORIKAWA highlighted how ASEF offers opportunities to the young generations across Asia and Europe to participate and show their capabilities on design and sustainable development.
Over the past 25 years ASEF has played an instrumental role in supporting the Asia Europe Meeting by promoting better mutual understanding between Asia and Europe through greater intellectual, cultural, and people-to-people exchanges.
On this occasion of its Silver Jubilee, ASEF is committed to step up its efforts to advance mutual understanding and collaboration between the people of Asia and Europe through opportunities that enable exchange of ideas and increased opportunities for partnerships.
