The four Expert Groups of the 8th ASEF Regional Conference on Higher Education (ARC8) have spent the last four months engaged in informative and vibrant discussions facilitated by the ASEF Higher Education Team. Each expert group has had three to four sessions discussing the status quo, opportunities, and risks in relation to the subthemes of ARC8, which are:
- Inclusive Learning and Teaching in a Digital World;
- Inclusive and Flexible Lifelong Learning Pathways;
- Inclusive International Mobility of People and Knowledge;
- Equitable Access and Success in Higher Education.
Thus far, the process has brought about both shared thoughts and diverse perspectives with regard to inclusivity and diversity in higher education. Beyond the inputs brought by experts to the table, they have enjoyed inputs and the virtual company of guest speakers, namely: Dr Borhene CHAKROUN, Director, Division for Policies and Lifelong Learning Systems, Education Sector, UNESCO ; Dr Ilya KORSHUNOV, PIAAC National Expert, Lifelong Learning Group; Deputy Director of the Institute of Education, Higher School of Economics, National Research University, Moscow; and Dr Francesc PEDRO, Director of the UNESCO Institute for Higher Education in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Currently, experts are drafting chapters of the ARC8 Outlook Report 2030: Equity in Access and Success in Higher Education.
