AI & Equity: Navigating the Divide
The rapid integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into education offers exciting possibilities to transform teaching and learning. Yet, it also brings critical challenges around equity, access, and ethical responsibility. “AI and Equity: Navigating the Divide” is a course designed to help educators navigate this complex landscape. It equips them with the knowledge, skills, and tools to harness AI for inclusive, high-quality education—while critically engaging with its biases, limitations, and ethical risks. Aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) and the principles of Education for All (EFA), the course emphasizes ethical AI use and the essential role of educators in shaping equitable learning environments. Through a blend of hands-on AI training and reflective discussions on equity, participants will be empowered to drive meaningful, transformative change in their classrooms and communities.
Goals
- Foster critical awareness of ethical, economic, and social biases in AI, enabling educators to address equity challenges in their classrooms
- Equip educators with practical skills to integrate EFA-AI tools into their teaching practices for universal accessibility and inclusivity in education
- Promote leadership and decision-making competencies among educators to drive innovation, ethical practices and sustainable development in education through AI

When?
The “AI & Equity: Navigating the Divide” will run over a span of 4 weeks from 1-22 July 2025 (1 hour per session). Session dates and times are:
- Week 1 – Tuesday, 01 July 2025 (10:00 CEST / 16:00 SGT)
- Week 2 – Tuesday, 08 July 2025 (10:00 CEST / 16:00 SGT)
- Week 3 – Tuesday, 15 July 2025 (10:00 CEST / 16:00 SGT)
- Week 4 – Tuesday, 22 July 2025 (10:00 CEST / 16:00 SGT)
