The 2020/21 Sustainable Development Transformation Forum (SDTF 2020/21) titled “Building Back Better and Greener – Low Carbon, Sustainable Industrialization” has just concluded last Friday, 26 February 2021. The 5-day forum which took place 22-26 February 2021 focused on recovery pathways towards a just and sustainable economy, considering in depth how developing countries can seize the opportunities presented by COVID-19 and long-term decarbonization to launch or in some cases accelerate sustainable, low-carbon industrialisation.
The forum brought together representatives and experts from governments, United Nations system, civil society and academic institutions, and culminated in the publication on the 2020/21 Incheon Communiqué. The communique outlines the policy-relevant conclusions on steps towards low-carbon industrialisation, including bridging the SDGs financing gap.
