The ASEF Capacity Training Series on “Leadership and Entrepreneurship took place on 17-18 March 2016 in Islamabad, Pakistan followed by 22-23 March 2016 in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The trainings were spin-off events from the ASEF Young Leaders Summit (ASEFYLS) in 2015 with the core objective to invite prominent applicants of the ASEFYLS to be part of skills-orientated workshops.

Around 30 young entrepreneurs, students and academics took part in the 2-day training in Pakistan led by the ASEFYLS partner and facilitator Mr Martin TAN, Executive Director of the Institute of Societal Leadership at Singapore Management University, and the Hungarian representative at the ASEFYLS Mr Dezso FARKAS, CEO, Partnerköveto. The training focused on the social dimensions of leadership and how to generate positive impact for the community. The National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) joined the Capacity Training in Pakistan as local partner.

Over 50 young leaders from Bangladesh attended the training in Dhaka, which focused on stakeholder management, impact assessment and communication. These two 1-day training courses were conducted by Ms Saskia JUNG, Senior Consultant at Paia Consulting, Mr Josef MULLER, CEO of Junior Achievement in the Czech Republic, and Ms Tasmia HOQUE, Lawyer at Tanjib Alam & Associates. The trainings took place at North South University (NSU) with support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh.

Both trainings in Pakistan and Bangladesh were the 1st ASEF education activities implemented in these 2 ASEM countries.
