The Asia-Europe Training on Science and Technology Diplomacy 2025 Kicks Off!
The Asia-Europe Training on Science and Technology Diplomacy 2025 has officially started!
On 23 October, participants gathered for the Welcome and Introduction session of the 7-week online learning journey taking place from 23 October to 4 December 2025. Bringing together early-career professionals from across Asia and Europe, the training explores how science and technology can inform international cooperation and global governance.
The programme officially opened with welcome remarks from Ambassador Beata Stoczyńska, Executive Director of ASEF; Ms Lone Thorup, ASEF Governor for Denmark and Chief Advisor, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark; Ms Lili Érmezei, Representative, Central European Scientific Society of Innovation and Technology (CESSIT); and Ms Nur Tri Aries S, Executive Secretary, National Innovation Agency of Indonesia (BRIN).
Participants were also inspired by a keynote address from Dr Ronit Prawer, Director for Asia Pacific at the International Science Council, Australian Academy of Science, who shared insights on science diplomacy, its history, and how it can function as a catalyst for global collaboration and trust-building between regions.
