OVERVIEW
This conference was held to commemorate the ASEF’s 10th anniversary, and it was an occasion to address key areas of concern, such as racism and xenophobia, the relationship between religion and the state, the impact of the media, and the relationship between the private and public sector.
The conference also sought to further synergies amongst participants and institutions by encouraging them to focus on translating ideas and recommendations arising from this dialogue into concrete policy recommendations. Participants at the conference included prominent personalities from governments, international organisations, and civil society such as Surin Pitsuwan (ASEAN Secretary-General Designate) and Katerina Stenou (Director of the Division of Cultural Policy and Intercultural Dialogue, UNESCO).
