Samdani Seminars was selected for support under Creative Encounters in 2016. The activity was postponed to 2017 and took place in February in Bangladesh.
The 2nd edition of the Samdani Series aimed to connect international and Bangladeshi arts professionals through two activities: Sebastian Cichocki Seminar on Art in Postartistic (and Postdemocratic) Times (19 February 2017, Dhaka) and Sculptural Congress Workshop with Pawel Althamer and the Neighbours (20-28 February 2017, Sylhet), a series of interactive workshops with patients and local school children to create a communal sculpture for a public park. Partner include Samdani Foundation (Bangladesh); Protisruti (The Promise): Drug Rehabilitation Centre (Bangladesh); Polish Institute, New Delhi (India); Brodno Sculpture Park (Poland); Museum of Modern Art – Warsaw (Poland); and, Foksal Gallery Foundation (Poland).
