The ASEF Public Health Network organised the ASEF-ASAP (Accurate Scenarios – Active Preparedness) scenarios launch on Monday 13 June in Bangkok.
This multimedia launch was a unique opportunity to present the objectives behind the scenario planning initiative by the Network. ASEF presented three scenarios in the form of audio-visual animated spots and a digital publication that encapsulate all information and knowledge resources pertaining to the ASEF scenario-building process. These resources can be used by interested individuals and organisations as tools for pandemic preparedness.

ABOUT THE SCENARIOS
ASEF-ASAP is one of a kind. Three scenarios were developed through a series of workshops in 2010. Every scenario tells a story in future about what MAY happen and not what WILL happen. Each story starts with a premise and develops a specific context for future. These scenarios do NOT foretell the future. How the future plays out will be different from what we imagined in a specific scenario. But when we take all three scenarios together, they cover the range of the possible.
THE ASEF SCENARIO-BUILDING PROCESS
All three scenarios are developed with the technical support from Prospex, through a participatory process involving a range of participants from health and non-health sectors, with a singular purpose – to develop strategies for pandemic preparedness.
