In partnership with the Stockholm School of Entrepreneurship (SESS), and with support from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Sweden, and the Ministry of Education and Research, Sweden, ASEF organised an Experts’ Meeting on Entrepreneurship and Youth Employment. Under the topic “Re-engineering Tactics for Asia & Europe”, this gathering of Experts was designed to facilitate cooperation in sharing good practices and to explore existing and emerging efforts related to youth employment and entrepreneurship. The Experts’ Meeting brought together 5 sectors, namely social enterprises, corporations, policies, education, and the start-up scene, to jointly provide a more holistic understanding of entrepreneurship and its role in promoting youth employment in the regions.
The Experts’ Meeting began with snapshot presentations on entrepreneurship reflecting the current and trending activities in Asia and Europe. The participating Experts’ also worked together in outlining a strategic proposal of how entrepreneurship and youth employment can be promoted on an Asia-Europe level. The meeting was wrapped up with a site visit to the co-working space Start-Up People 45 (SUP46), to learn more about the local tech-scene.
The Experts are currently developing co-written essays, which will result in an e-Publication that will be published in September 2015.
The products of the meeting will then be channelled into the following:
- Upcoming ASEF Projects on Youth Employment
- The 1st ASEF Young Leaders’ Summit on Entrepreneurship and Youth Employment as preparatory content
- ASEM Ministries of Education, Foreign Affairs, and Labour/Employment as analysis and reference material
