OVERVIEW
Sixty participants from ASEM member countries gathered at this conference, which focused on the economic empowerment of women as a critical process for changing perspectives and the promotion of information sharing between the regions.
For this conference, co-organisers also commissioned a task force group — comprising members from Indonesia, Japan, Philippines, France, Greece/Turkey, and the Netherlands — which provided six research studies on the topic to show how the lives of women have greatly improved through changing individual, family, and community perspectives.
